DUTO participates in the start up’s competition on “La Red Innova” in Madrid (Spain)
“The Start-Up Competition in Ibero America” was one of the activities covered by “La Red Innova“, the first forum on innovation and technology for Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets, bringing together the Latinamerican Internet leaders with their peers from Europe, USA and Asia to share experiences, ideas and projects.
The community of “La Red Innova”, in collaboration with the Endeavor Foundation and BBVA, made it possible for 15 companies related to innovative technology and high growth potential (Start-Up’s) could attend to Madrid presenting to a jury composed of specialists concerning the industry and representatives of venture capital companies.
Endeavor Foundation made the selection process of the 15 Start-Up projects between Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Panama, Ecuador, Bolivia, Honduras, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Cuba, Paraguay, Peru and Brazil. DUTO S.A. was one of two Colombian companies selected, which was within the 15 finalists and the right to participate in the final held on 17 and June 18 in Madrid, Spain.
Felipe Restrepo Calle, current Ph.D. student of Technologies for the Information Society at the University of Alicante (Spain) and one of the team managers of the company DUTO S.A., participated in the competition receiving a special mention for the social impact of the company.
DUTO S.A., a company that researches, develops and markets technology products for color and images perception by means of touch, known as IRIS ®, for visually impaired students, had the opportunity to interact with Internet Latin American leaders and show the potential level of research, development and innovation that is developing Colombia currently.
